BS/MS in Criminal Justice

The accelerated BS/MS in Criminal Justice program offered in Center City allows students to begin their graduate studies at the undergraduate level, counting certain upper-level classes as both undergraduate and graduate courses. As such, students enrolled in our BS/MS program graduate with both undergraduate and a graduate degrees with just 138 credits. The program offers a multidisciplinary curriculum to give students a sophisticated working knowledge of the major systems within the field. Students will take rigorous courses rooted in history, law, philosophy, psychology, research, sociology, management, and political science that involve critical analysis of complex issues. Experienced faculty provide a quality education to students who have demonstrated competence and commitment to learning and growth, who desire to make a meaningful contribution in the field of criminal justice, and who share the values of idealism, honesty, integrity, justice, and fairness.

BSW in Social Work

The Bachelor of Social Work program at West Chester University in Philadelphia is a part-time degree completion program that emphasizes critical thinking, self-evaluation, and understanding the connections between people and their environments. BSW students apply their assessment and intervention skills through two field placements that occur over the course of three semesters. Students learn to promote the strengths and well-being of diverse individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities. After graduation, students are able to choose from a variety of entry-level social work positions. Many students choose to pursue graduate education in social work and related fields. The BSW program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.

BSN For The Registered Nurse (RN-BSN)

Designed for licensed Registered Nurses, West Chester University's RN-BSN program offered in Center City will put you on the fast track to success. The RN- BSN program is designed to meet the needs of our busy students who are balancing life and work in addition to studies. Courses are offered in a hybrid format, alternating between in-person weekly evening classes and online assignments. Nurses with a BSN are needed in areas such as acute care, healthcare administration, and many other areas. Graduates of WCU's RN-BSN Program continue to grow professionally and are qualified to take on a number of roles in both acute and chronic healthcare settings as well as community settings. The BSN program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.

MA in Communication Studies

The Master of Arts in Communication Studies is a comprehensive 36-credit degree program with a focus on leadership. The M.A. in Communication Studies is designed to enhance communication skills, as many courses require extensive public speaking and writing. Courses are generally taught as small, discussion-oriented seminars. Through coursework, students strengthen skills and abilities across a broad array of communication contexts including organizational, interpersonal, small group, mass media, and public relations. The curriculum is also uniquely customizable as 5 courses in the sequence can be taken outside of the Communication Studies department. Many students have taken advantage of the opportunity to earn certificates in entrepreneurship, public administration, or project management with related coursework in finance, marketing, human resources, public policy, target market analysis, and organizational dynamics.
